Prof. Dr. Ogtay Shiraliyev, the Health Minister of Azerbaijan, spent three days visiting Thuringia. Besides meetings with Christine Lieberknecht as the state’s minister of health and Jurgen Reinholz, the economics minister, his agenda included a visit to the clinical centre of Jena University.

While there at the clinical centre, the Minister was presented a showcase model of the new clinical complex and informed by Dr. Karen Treuter – with Günter Liepelt, the Managing Director of AJZ Engineering present – that the conditions for medical healthcare services had clearly improved ever since construction stage I of the new building complex was completed and its medical facilities launched into operation. AJZ Engineering has been involved in this clinical project as a medical expert planner.

Medical healthcare in Azerbaijan is to be further improved in the coming years. In pursuing this goal, the country has decided to follow German standards and guidelines of quality. Notably, special focus will lie on further education and training of Azerbaijanian doctors. In a meeting with the Medical President of the Jena University Clinical Centre, Prof. Dr. Klaus Höffken, cooperation with the Centre and the University Clinic of Baku has already been agreed.
