The multi EA® 5000 is the new generation of elemental analyzers. Analyzers that are setting standards!
C, N, S and Cl from solid, fluid, paste-like and gaseous samples are only a small part of what it can do. TOC, EOX or AOX/TOX analyses are further areas of analysis easily covered by the multi EA® 5000. This makes it a universal talent to be used in various fields.

Modular principle

Its unique modular principle means that the system can be constructed individually. You can configure your multi EA® 5000 to meet your needs and requirements, thus creating your personal analysis system.

Double furnace technology

The globally unique double furnace technology makes it quick to switch between vertical and horizontal applications in one instrument, i.e. fast and optimum adaptation to the sample matrix and analysis standard with minimal effort. A single multipurpose combustion tube for both vertical and horizontal use in all standard applications – no more switching combustion tubes.

Flame sensor technology

The flame sensor technology guarantees matrix-optimized, quantitative combustion. Even unknown matrices whose properties are undocumented such as oils, fuels, solvents, polymers, coal and liquid gases can be analyzed soot-free, precisely and reliably. Forget time-consuming method generation and optimization of process parameters, such as gas flow, temperature, dosing speed – these are in the past!
The Self Check System (SCS), intuitive multiWin® software and unique FAST (Fast, Safe and Tight) connection technology offer convenient operation and reliable measurement results.

Multi-matrix sampler

The multi-matrix sampler for vertical and horizontal applications saves valuable time – no complex conversion, no time-consuming connection, no adjustment of an additional sampler! The combustion system is unaffected.

Elemental Analyzer – C, S and Cl solid analysis was never so easy and reliable

The multi EA® 4000 offers real macro elemental analysis! Precise − reliable − easy to use. Simple and straightforward determinations – TS, TC, TX, TOC, TIC, EC and AOC parameters in inorganic and organic solids: soil samples, sediments, construction materials, fuels, ashes, polymers, wastes, catalysts, minerals and fertilizers.

Macro elemental analysis

The multi EA® 4000 is versatile, reliable and easy to operate, yet offers real macro elemental analysis. Sample weights up to 3 g can be analyzed with ease using the multi EA® 4000 – no laborious sample homogenization is necessary.
The HTC (High Temperature Ceramic) technology is extremely robust and needs no catalyst; it’s easy to run precise analyses, even with aggressive and corrosive samples at high temperatures.

Simultaneous detection

A special wide-range NDIR detector enables the simultaneous analysis of carbon and sulfur in a broad, dynamic measurement range of ppm to percentage with high linearity. Made from highly resistant materials, with a specialized optical configuration and efficient gas cleaning, this system requires very little maintenance and has long-term stability, even for the most challenging applications like direct TOC measurement.
Elemental carbon or decomposable organic carbon determinations are also easy with the multi EA® 4000. A broad-range coulometer with a patented combination electrode is available for chlorine analyses across a wide range.

High sample throughput

A large capacity is optionally achieved thanks to a fully automated solid sampler which transfers the sample boats to the combustion furnace to get automated C, S and Cl analyses with amazingly high sample throughput. Additional features, such as the Self Check System (SCS), intuitive software navigation and an integrated "cookbook", give you the best reliability, efficiency, flexibility, precision and safety.

 

multi EA® 4000 with pre-furnace

Elemental analyzer for the determination of carbon and sulfur with additional pyrolysis option.

The analyzer is adapted for the combustion of samples at two different temperatures: in an integrated pre-furnace at up to 500 °C and subsequent combustion in an oxygen stream in the high-temperature furnace at a temperature of up to 1500 °C. The temperature of the pre-furnace can be freely selected up to 500 °C.

  • TIC solids module (direct determination of TIC in solids)

 

multi EA® 4000 with pyrolysis function

Elemental analyzer for the determination of carbon and sulfur with integrated pyrolysis function including multiWin® software.

The analyzer is adapted for the pyrolysis of samples in the inert gas flow at a freely selectable pyrolysis temperature of up to 1500 °C. The pyrolyzed sample can be combusted afterwards in an oxygen stream at temperatures of up to 1500 °C.

  • FPG 48 (solids autosampler)
  • TIC solids module (direct determination of TIC in solids)
