Peking and Jena, Oct 7, 2011 - At this year’s Beijing Conference and Exhibition on Instrumental Analysis, taking place on October 12 – 15 at the Beijing Exhibition Center in the capital of China, Analytik Jena AG will be represented with its own stand again.

Analytik Jena has joined this event since they set up their office in China in 2001. This year the worldwide operating company group celebrated the 10th anniversary of Analytik Jena China and will be joining the BCEIA for the sixth time. The brand name Analytik Jena has become very successful on the rapidly growing Chinese market for analytical measuring technology. “Our exports to China already account for 30 % of our total sales volume”, said Torsten Olschewski, General Manager of the business unit Analytical Instrumentation.

About BCEIA:
The Beijing Conference and Exhibition on Instrumental Analysis, sponsored by the China Association for Instrumental Analysis and supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology (PRC), has become a biennial professional international event in this field in China. Jena, September 21, 2011 — Analytik Jena AG has delivered two high quality analysis measuring instruments to a health facility in the Japanese province Miyagi and installed them on site. The Public Health Society in the provincial capital of Sendai in Northeast Japan will benefit from the donation of the device. Similar to the neighboring region Fukushima, the Miyagi province is still particularly affected by the devastating destruction today. During previous months, the Japanese subsidiary of the Jena manufacturer of analytic measuring technology has already repaired several instruments in facilities that were damaged during the earthquake free of charge.

Analytik Jena has been present in the Japanese market with its subsidiary Analytik Jena Japan Co., Ltd. for five years. Also at the company premises in Yokohama, south of Tokyo, the earthquake was clearly felt. "Offering help for the affected regions in an extreme situation like this was not a question for Analytik Jena", said Klaus Berka, chair of the board of Analytik Jena AG.

Directly after the earthquake, the company immediately offered its customers to repair damaged analysis instruments free of charge. The Public Health Society, a public institution for health education and environmental protection, had lost several analysis instruments in its laboratories during the catastrophe. Analytik Jena consequently delivered a ZEEnit700 atomic absorption spectrometer and a multi N/C 3100 TOC analyzer to Sendai to help rebuild the premises of the health authority and restore the normal working environment of this institution.

Analytik Jena employees have now installed and commissioned the instruments in Japan. After the installation was complete and the Japanese specialists had been briefed, Analytik Jena Japan Co., Ltd. ceremonially received an official certificate of appreciation from the Public Health Society for the valuable support.

El equipo complementa la familia de productos contrAA® y optimiza las ventajas de la espectrometría de absorción atómica de fuente continua de alta resolución (HR-CS AAS) especialmente para la técnica de horno de grafito. 

"Con el desarrollo del contrAA® 600 hemos completado nuestro catálogo de contrAA® con un producto importante. El equipo de horno de grafito salva las distancias entre el contrAA® 300 para la técnica de llama y de hidruro y el contrAA® 700, que combina las técnicas de llama, hidruro y horno de grafito", dijo Torsten Olschewski, Jefe de Sección de Analytical Instrumentation. "En el análisis medioambiental y de alimentos, por ejemplo, o en la química clínica, la técnica de horno de grafito en combinación con la HR-CS AAS es la elección adecuada, especialmente en el análisis de ultratrazas".

Mediante la utilización de una lámpara de xenón de arco corto como fuente de radiación continua en combinación con un espectrómetro Echelle de alta resolución, el rango de longitud de onda relevante para la espectrometría de absorción atómica está disponible inmediatamente.  Gracias a la combinación de ambos componentes, se pueden registrar simultáneamente tanto la línea de análisis, como también todo el entorno espectral. Otras ventajas: la corrección de fondo simultánea y los límites de detección claramente más bajos aumentan la precisión de los resultados de medición. Con la HR-CS AAS, ahora se pueden evaluar también bandas moleculares y determinar, de este modo, elementos adicionales, que no pueden analizarse con la técnica de AAS tradicional.

En combinación con la técnica de sólidos directa de Analytik Jena, las muestras sólidas se pueden analizar directamente en el horno de grafito, eliminando la costosa preparación de las muestras. Esta ventaja ahorra a los usuarios mucho tiempo y esfuerzo en su trabajo diario. Al utilizar la técnica HydrEA para la determinación de elementos formadores de hidruro, el contrAA® 600 logra los mejores límites de detección minimizando, al mismo tiempo, los efectos de la matriz.

La serie HR-CS AAS ha sido desarrollada en estrecha colaboración con el Instituto Leibniz de Ciencias Analíticas (ISAS) en Berlín. Los nuevos equipos de alta calidad se producen en las sedes de Analytik Jena en Überlingen y Jena (Alemania). Desde aquí, la empresa junto con su red de socios internacional asegura la asistencia técnica y de aplicación para el nuevo producto.
